Frequently Asked Questions
What is a fitness assessment?
The word assessment sounds intimidating to most people, but the purpose of this assessment is simply to give you and the trainer a better understanding of how your body is functioning mechanically. All of us are subject to the mechanical stresses of our daily lives, for example sitting at a desk for hours a day, holding a phone between your shoulder and ear, holding a child in one arm while you try to multitask with the other…etc. All of these are things that contribute to muscular weakness, tightness and imbalance. This then leads to muscle and joint pain, headaches and susceptibility to injury.
You also have the option to choose from two body measurement tests if you’re interested in being able to retest and see how your body composition has changed after a few months of training. The assessment results are then discussed with you, and a workout program is then made and tailored to you based on your biomechanical needs and fitness goals.
Order of Testing:
-
body measurement test-flexibility testing
-
muscular balance and strength testing
-
cardiovascular fitness testing
You can expect your fitness assessment to take approximately 80 minutes.
What is involved in a Personal Training session?
Each session starts with a warm up of dynamic stretching to get your muscles and joints ready for the workout. The workout that the trainer then coaches you through has been made personally for you based on the results of your fitness assessment and a discussion of your fitness history and future goals. All your sets and repetitions are recorded for each exercise in order to keep a close eye on your progress. A new training program is made for you approximately every 4-6 weeks to keep you progressing towards your goals. Each session after the workout is finished, you will receive personalized stretching videos to correct and prevent muscular imbalances and pain.
What is involved in a Semi-Private session?
Each session starts with a warm up of dynamic stretching to get your muscles and joints ready for the workout. The workout that the trainer then coaches you through has been made personally for you based on the results of your fitness assessment and a discussion of your fitness history and future goals. You and your partner each have your own workout program tailored to your individual needs. A new training program is made for you approximately every 4-6 weeks to keep you progressing towards your goals. Each session after the workout is finished, each member will receive personalized stretching videos to correct and prevent muscular imbalances and pain.
What is involved in a Small Group Training session?
Each session starts with a warm up of dynamic stretching to get your muscles and joints ready for the workout. The session is based on the needs and goals of the group and the workout changes each session to add variety and energize the group! After the workout, each member will receive stretching videos to guide them through their post workout cool down.
What and when should I be eating?
No matter what workout you’re doing, you’ll only be able to fully reach your goals if you’re eating right. That’s why each client no matter what package, has the option to receive feedback from the trainer on pre and post workout nutritional needs, as well as assistance with tailoring your eating habits to match your fitness goals. This is ongoing throughout the course of the training package.
